a string of words cross the space from your mouth to my heart
a hand gesture tears the air like a scorpion’s tail
and my carefully preserved walls
built in the fragility of childhood despair
split open to the core
cataclysmic
earthquake
breathing deep
searing pain
darkness, like a cosmos without stars
breathing
falling
deep
into the pain
surfacing for moments
before another wave hits
breathing into the awareness
surfacing for a moment as the light breaks
breathing into the bliss
ecstatic
breathing to the new edges of my being
there aren’t any
breathing
honouring
forgiving
releasing
breathing
no more waves
the light pours
in
or out
there are no walls left
breathing blisstatic
opening eyes
where rivers have silently poured
for bewildering moments
their seeing
their knowing
their past
.. their joy
and nothing that existed exists now
all is new and my heart has expanded
to hold it all
this is why
I live
I love
I breathe
